Commonly asked questions
-
FACE:
For facial waxing, aim for around 3–5 mm of hair growth so there’s enough for the wax to grip. Avoid tweezing or shaving beforehand where possible. If you’re using exfoliating or resurfacing products such as retinoids, AHAs, BHAs or other strong actives, pause use on the areas being waxed for at least 5 days before your appointment.
Please let me know if you’re using prescription skincare or have recently had a peel, laser or advanced skin treatment, as we may need to make some adjustments.
Otherwise, there’s no need to do anything special before you arrive — I’ll cleanse and prep the area for you!
BODY:
For the best wax, let your hair grow to around 5–10 mm long — roughly the length of a grain of rice. If you’ve been shaving, ideally give it around 2–3 weeks of growth before your appointment.Gently exfoliate the area 24–48 hours beforehand to help remove dead skin and free any trapped hairs, but avoid exfoliating on the day.
On the day, arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid applying oils, heavy moisturisers or fake tan to the area being waxed. For body or intimate waxing, loose, comfortable clothing is also a great idea for afterwards.
And don’t stress about being perfectly prepared — if you’re unsure about anything, just come as you are and we can work it out!
-
For the first 24–48 hours after your wax, keep things simple while the skin settles. Avoid exfoliating, very hot showers, saunas, swimming, intense exercise and anything that causes lots of heat, sweat or friction in the area.
After around 48 hours, you can start gently exfoliating 2–3 times a week to help prevent ingrown hairs and keep the skin smooth. Moisturise regularly too — happy, hydrated skin makes a difference!
Avoid shaving or tweezing between appointments so the hairs can move into a more consistent growth cycle.
For best results, aim to rebook every 4–6 weeks, depending on the area and your individual hair growth.
-
Everyone’s hair grows at a slightly different rate, but you’ll usually start to notice some regrowth within 2–3 weeks after waxing, with most areas ready to be waxed again at around 4–6 weeks.
You may notice a few hairs pop through earlier — totally normal! Hair grows in different cycles, so especially during your first few waxes, not every hair will grow back at the same time.
With regular waxing and avoiding shaving between appointments, your regrowth can become more consistent, softer and easier to manage over time.
-
No! Waxing won’t make your hair grow back thicker or darker. Because the hair is removed from the root, regrowth can actually feel softer and finer compared with shaving, which cuts the hair bluntly at the skin’s surface.
With consistent waxing, some people also notice their hair becomes finer or more sparse over time — although everyone’s hair growth is different.
-
Absolutely! Waxing can generally be continued throughout pregnancy if you’re comfortable doing so. Just keep in mind that hormonal changes can sometimes make your skin a little more sensitive than usual.
Many soon-to-be mums also choose to have a bikini or Brazilian wax closer to their due date for comfort, convenience and personal preference.
If you’re unsure or have any pregnancy complications or skin changes, it’s always best to check with your healthcare provider first.
-
Yes! You can absolutely still have your Brazilian wax while on your period. Just make sure you’re wearing a tampon or menstrual cup, with any tampon string tucked in before your appointment.
If your period arrives unexpectedly or you don’t have a fresh tampon with you, don’t stress — there are always some available in the bathroom for you. No awkwardness, no judgement!
-
I don’t currently offer male Brazilian or intimate waxing, however all other waxing services on my menu are available to everyone.
I’m happy to refer you to a trusted and experienced waxer — just send through an email enquiry.
Aftercare
-
For the first 24–48 hours:
Avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs and other exfoliating or resurfacing products.
Keep skincare gentle, hydrating and simple.
Avoid excessive heat, sweating, saunas and steam.
Avoid fake tan on the waxed area.
Wear SPF and avoid prolonged direct sun exposure.
Try not to touch, pick or rub the freshly waxed skin.
Once the skin feels completely calm, you can gradually return to your usual skincare routine.
A few bumps are normal!
Small red dots, mild redness or tenderness around the follicles can happen after waxing and will usually settle on their own. Avoid picking or over-treating the area.
If something doesn’t feel right or your skin isn’t settling as expected, please get in touch — I’m always happy to help.

$67 | Deep Cleansing, Exfoliating, Hydrating and Brightening | 130ml
A gel cleanser that combines cleansing and gentle exfoliation to help remove built-up dead skin cells, excess oil and impurities while improving skin texture, clarity and brightness.
The formula uses an Amphoteric Hydroxy Complex (lactic acid and amino acids) to gently exfoliate the skin, alongside Vitamin C for antioxidant and brightening support. Hydrating ingredients help maintain moisture while exfoliating, making this a useful option for skin that needs a little more refinement than a basic cleanser can provide.
It can be used as an exfoliating cleanser or, when appropriate for your skin, as a short-contact mild peel.
