Experience the next generation of skin resurfacing and rejuvenation with the Peel & Renew Infusion Facial. Using ultra-fine hydrolysed freshwater micro-spongilla spicules to penetrate the skin, this treatment stimulates cellular renewal, refines texture, and delivers potent actives where they’re needed most.
Spicule infusion
-
Spicules are microscopic, needle-like structures derived from freshwater sponge material. Rich in naturally occurring minerals, proteins and bioavailable silica, they create a gentle physical stimulus within the skin without the use of traditional needles or a needling device.
When applied during a professional treatment, spicules help stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process while supporting the delivery of active ingredients into the skin.
Think of it as a controlled skin-renewal treatment without the use of a device or traditional needles.
-
Spicule treatments can be customised to target a range of skin concerns, including:
Fine lines and early signs of ageing
Loss of firmness and elasticity
Uneven or rough skin texture
Enlarged or congested pores
Dull or lacklustre skin
Pigmentation and uneven skin tone
Breakouts and congestion
Acne-prone skin and associated inflammation
The result is smoother, brighter, more refined-looking skin with a healthy, refreshed glow.
-
Spicule treatments are ideal if you’re looking for professional skin renewal with less downtime than traditional resurfacing treatments or microneedling.
They’re suited to anyone wanting to improve the appearance of:
Ageing and fine lines
Uneven texture
Pigmentation and dullness
Congestion and breakouts
Enlarged pores
Overall skin tone and radiance
Because spicules create a physical stimulus without traditional needles or a needling device, they can be a great option for clients wanting visible skin renewal without a more invasive treatment.
As with all advanced treatments at Cared For, your skin is assessed first to determine whether spicules are suitable for you and how the treatment should be customised to your skin.
-

What to Expect
It’s completely normal for your skin to go through a few changes following your Dr. Esthé treatment. These changes are part of the skin’s natural renewal process as it works to regenerate, strengthen and improve.
Your skin may feel prickly, tight, warm or slightly swollen, followed by some dryness or flaking over the following days.
Follow the aftercare below, and please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns during your recovery.
Immediately After Your Treatment
What to Expect
Prickly or spiky sensation — this is completely normal and is caused by the natural Dr. Esthé spicules. This may last for 24–48 hours as the spicules naturally work their way out of the skin.
Tightness — your skin may feel tight as the renewal process begins.
Redness or warmth — mild redness and warmth are normal following treatment.
Mild swelling or puffiness — particularly in areas where the skin has been more stimulated.
How to Care for Your Skin
Do not cleanse for at least 12 hours following your treatment.
Avoid rubbing, scratching or unnecessarily touching your face.
When applying skincare, use gentle pressing or patting motions rather than rubbing.
If needed, apply a nourishing hydrator in the evening to help relieve tightness.
Do not apply makeup for 24 hours. If makeup is essential, use clean products and clean application tools.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, spas and exercise.
Do not swim during this initial recovery period.
Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF as directed.
Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
Day 1–5 After Treatment
What to Expect
As your skin continues to renew, you may experience:
Dryness or tightness
Mild to moderate flaking or shedding — this varies from person to person, and some clients may experience little to no flaking.
Continued sensitivity or mild prickling, particularly during the first 24–48 hours.
How to Care for Your Skin
Use only the soothing and hydrating products I have recommended for you.
Apply your moisturiser, hydrating serum or mask as recommended to support your skin while it recovers.
Do not pick, peel, rub or scratch any flaking skin. Allow it to shed naturally.
Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF daily.
Avoid active ingredients, including:
Retinoids / retinol
AHAs
BHAs
Benzoyl peroxide
Other exfoliating acids
Avoid physical exfoliation such as scrubs.
Avoid additional exfoliating treatments, including enzymes and peels, unless I have specifically advised you to use them.
When Can I Exfoliate?
Once your skin has fully recovered, a gentle exfoliation followed by a hydrating mask may help reveal a smoother, more refreshed complexion.
Do not exfoliate simply because your skin is flaking. Allow the skin to shed naturally and follow the timing I have recommended for your individual treatment.
Remember
Every skin responds differently. Some clients experience noticeable flaking, while others experience very little.
The key is to keep your skin hydrated, protected and undisturbed while it renews.
