Post Brazilian Care
Avoid Excessive Heat & Sweating
This includes, but not limited to showers, sauna, steam room, gym, hot yoga, swimming pools or tanning! Sweating can also cause bacteria to enter your open follicles which can cause breakouts. This also includes no sexy time either… an open follicle + heat and bacteria = a bad idea
On a brighter note, take this as the perfect excuse to skip the gym !
Avoid tight clothing for the first 24 hours:
Tight clothing can rub against the skin and cause irritation. Wear loose-fitting clothing and also suggest opting for comfortable cotton or bamboo underwear. Steer clear of anything too lacey today!
Keep the area clean
It is very tempting to want to touch the area that has just been waxed but like sweating, bacteria from hands into your open follicles can cause a breakout. Sometimes when you wax an area for the first time, your skin might react as if it's been through a bit of a shock. This can trigger a response where white blood cells rush to the area. As a result, you might notice what looks like breakouts or hives. It can seem a bit alarming at first, but these reactions are totally normal and usually disappear on their own within a day or two. So, no need to worry—it's just your body adjusting!
No lotions, potions, sparkles or glitter
As well as keeping the area clean there is no need to apply anything to the skin after your brazilian wax for at least 24 hours. After that you can bedazzle at your own risk!

Avoid Ingrowns! Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate (and Moisturise)
One of the most crucial aspects of Brazilian wax aftercare is regular exfoliation.. By gently buffing away dead skin, you create a clear pathway for hair to grow back through the surface.
Moisturising is equally important as it keeps your skin surface soft and supple, further aiding the hair in growing back smoothly.
In essence, exfoliating and moisturising are essential steps to maintain healthy skin post-waxing.
After a Brazilian wax, hair typically won't start growing back for about 2 weeks, so there's no need to rush into exfoliating immediately! However, it's important not to miss the window when hair begins to regrow—waiting too long can make it harder to prevent ingrown hairs.
Exfoliating too soon can also be too harsh on the skin; it's best to wait around 4-5 days after your wax. Once you start, make it a regular routine. Everyone's skin and hair are different; some never exfoliate and avoid ingrown hairs, while others are more prone to them.
Prevention is easier than treatment once ingrown hairs appear. Consider starting with exfoliation in the shower three times a week then adjust as needed. Using an exfoliating body glove, gentle scrub can effectively prevent those pesky ingrown hairs!
Ideally returning to get another Brazilian wax within 4-6 weeks! This ensures your results are maintained and waxes are as comfortable as possible. Avoid the tempting lure of the razor, shaving between your waxes will encourage your hair to grow back thicker and stronger.
